Your scalp has no hair between it and the sun. No natural protection, all day, every day.

This is the straightforward fix for that. A daily SPF 30 head cream built specifically for scalp skin. Mineral based, so it sits on the surface rather than being absorbed into your pores, and organic enough that you'd actually want it on your skin every morning.

Hydrates, protects, absorbs fast. Smells like something worth using. Done.

You’ve Got Questions

Is SPF 30 suitable for a bald head?

SPF 30 provides a high level of UVB protection when it is applied correctly and in sufficient quantity. Our formula also provides broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection, which is important because UVA contributes to longer-term photoageing while UVB is primarily associated with sunburn.

No sunscreen blocks all UV radiation, so it should be used alongside sensible sun-protection habits.

How often should I reapply it?

Reapply regularly during continued sun exposure and always after heavy sweating, swimming, towel drying or anything else that may remove the product. Follow the application and reapplication directions on the packaging.

Daily moisturiser with SPF is convenient for ordinary exposure, but it should not be treated as a single morning application that guarantees protection for an entire active day outdoors.

How much should I apply to my scalp?

Apply enough to cover the entire exposed scalp with an even, visible layer before carefully working it in. Do not forget the ears, temples, back of the neck or any thinning areas that remain exposed.

Using too little sunscreen reduces the protection achieved. Follow the directions on the packaging and apply it before exposure rather than waiting until your scalp begins to feel hot.

Can I use regular sunscreen on my bald head?

You can, but mineral-based (Zinc Oxide) sunscreens are preferred for bald scalps as they provide a physical barrier that is less likely to clog high-density scalp pores.

Will it leave a white, greasy or overly shiny finish?

Mineral SPF uses zinc oxide, so the finish can differ slightly from a moisturiser without sun protection. Our formula is designed to absorb comfortably while hydrating the scalp, without leaving the heavy, greasy feel associated with many conventional sunscreens.

Apply it evenly and give it time to settle. The intended result is protected, healthy-looking skin rather than an artificially flat, powdery finish.

Is this just for bald heads?

That’s who it’s made for.

But yes, it works perfectly well on faces too. We won’t tell.

Should bald men use SPF every day?

A bald scalp has no hair covering it, so it receives direct UV exposure whenever it is uncovered outdoors. Using SPF consistently is one of the most effective ways to reduce cumulative sun damage and premature visible ageing.

UV levels vary with the season, weather, location and time of day, so check the forecast and use suitable protection whenever exposure is expected. A hat, shade and avoiding prolonged midday sun remain important too.

Is it vegan and cruelty free?

Yes :)

Finally, a sunscreen designed with bald heads in mind

My husband spends a lot of time outdoors and, with a shaved head, sun protection is something he has to think about regularly. He's tried a few products over the years, but this one has quickly become his favourite because it's been specifically designed for use on the scalp as well as the face.

The first thing he noticed was how comfortable it felt compared to traditional sunscreens. It spreads easily, absorbs well and doesn't leave his scalp looking overly shiny or feeling sticky throughout the day. He also likes that it feels more like a skincare product than a thick sunscreen, making it something he's happy to use regularly rather than only when the weather is particularly hot.

After using it on walks, in the garden and during sunny days out, he's been very pleased with the protection it provides. The compact size makes it easy to keep on hand, and the natural formulation is a nice bonus. Overall, this is an excellent product for bald or closely shaved men who want effective sun protection without the drawbacks of many traditional sunscreens.

Brilliant Scalp SPF for the Follically Challenged!

I originally bought this as a bit of a joke for my follically challenged brother, but we were both genuinely surprised at how good it is.

He works outside a lot and has been caught out by the sun before, ending up with a nasty burn on his scalp, so having something specifically designed for that area makes a lot of sense. He found the cream easy to apply, comfortable to wear, and long lasting without feeling overly heavy.

He used it when we spent a full day in the park watching a triathlon and felt protected throughout the day, with no burning afterwards.

A really useful product for anyone whose scalp gets a lot of sun exposure. Funny gift idea aside, it’s actually something he’ll keep using.

Premium-feeling daily scalp moisturiser with useful SPF protection

I have been really impressed with this head cream. It feels much more like a proper skincare product than a standard sunscreen, and the fact that SPF 30 is built in makes it really convenient for everyday use without needing to apply a separate moisturiser and sun cream.

The texture is one of the best things about it. It spreads easily, absorbs quickly and does not leave the scalp feeling greasy or overly shiny. Instead, it leaves a more natural, healthy-looking finish. A small amount goes quite a long way as well, which helps justify the relatively high price for a 50ml bottle.

I also like the scent. It has a subtle natural, botanical smell rather than the strong chemical sunscreen scent you sometimes get, and it fades fairly quickly after application. The packaging feels very premium too and the pump makes it easy to dispense the right amount without making a mess.

The SPF 30 protection is ideal for normal daily use such as commuting, walking or spending some time outside, while also keeping the skin feeling moisturised and comfortable. For prolonged exposure in strong sunshine I would still make sure to reapply regularly, as you would with any sunscreen.

It is definitely more expensive than a basic moisturiser, but it feels like a genuinely well-made product and combines two useful steps into one. Overall, a very nice daily scalp cream that absorbs well, smells good and provides convenient sun protection without the greasy feel of traditional sunscreen.

Handy SPF for Scalp and Face

This SPF 30 cream is a really useful product, especially for anyone who needs sun protection on their scalp as well as their face. The cream is easy to apply and is a convenient size for keeping in a bag or taking on holiday.

I like that it is designed specifically for the scalp and face, making it easier to protect areas that can often be forgotten. The mineral sunscreen is also a nice feature for those who prefer this type of sun protection.

The 50ml tube is compact but still gives plenty of uses. It is useful for everyday outdoor activities, holidays, walking, gardening or spending time at the beach. Overall, a practical sunscreen that is easy to carry and useful for protecting exposed skin from the sun.

Comfortable Everyday Protection for Scalp and Face

I’ve found this head cream easy to work into my morning routine, especially on my scalp where ordinary sunscreen can feel heavy or greasy. It spreads smoothly across my scalp and face and feels comfortable once settled, without leaving my skin overly shiny. The small tube is handy for carrying around, although I do get through it fairly quickly when applying it generously. Overall, it feels gentle in everyday use and offers good value for money for something designed specifically for the scalp and face.

Great cream with clean ingredients and no harsh chemicals. A small amount covers a lot of skin and it has a great texture and absorbs quickly. Skin stays very hydrated.

🎩 Retro Style, Daily Shield

Keeping a shaved head or close crop moisturized and protected from daily sun exposure can be a tricky balancing act. The Hardwick SPF head cream aims to solve this grooming challenge, bringing a touch of barbershop heritage to a lightweight, daily-use formula designed to keep your scalp hydrated and shielded.

Traditional Aesthetic, Clean Absorption & Botanical Scent
The first thing you’ll notice is the handsome packaging—it nails a sophisticated, traditional vibe that looks right at home on any bathroom shelf. The pump mechanism makes dispensing completely mess-free, delivering just the right amount of product with every press.

Despite containing sun protection, the cream feels delightfully lightweight and non-greasy once applied. It rubs in smoothly across the scalp, and even if you have short stubble, it absorbs cleanly without leaving behind a heavy or chalky white residue (though it does take a tiny bit of extra rubbing to work it through stubble). The real star of the show, however, is the fragrance: it boasts a fresh, subtle botanical scent that feels elevated rather than synthetic. It leaves skin feeling noticeably soft, comfortable, and hydrated throughout the day. It’s worth noting, however, that this is formulated as a daily moisturizing shield rather than a heavy-duty beach sunscreen.

The SPF Level Trade-Off
The primary drawback comes down to the sun protection level. Offering SPF 30, it provides a solid layer of defense for everyday commutes and casual outdoor exposure, but users who spend extended hours in direct, intense sunlight will find themselves needing to reapply it throughout the day to maintain full coverage. A higher SPF option would offer even greater peace of mind for all-day outdoor wear.

⚖️ Pros and Cons Summary
✅ Pros
- Handsome, traditional packaging with a smooth pump dispenser
- Lightweight, non-greasy formula absorbs cleanly without heavy residue
- Absorbs well through short stubble with minimal effort
- Refreshing, subtle botanical scent gives a premium grooming feel
- Leaves skin feeling soft, nourished, and hydrated all day

❌ Cons
- SPF 30 rating requires frequent reapplication during prolonged direct sun exposure
- Formulated for daily moisturizing rather than replacing heavy-duty sunscreen

Final Thoughts
The Hardwick SPF head cream is a fantastic, stylish addition to any daily grooming routine for men wanting effortless scalp care. By combining clean absorption and a delightful botanical aroma with daily hydration, it takes all the guesswork out of keeping your head soft and protected. While you'll still want a heavy-duty sunblock for long days at the beach, its handsome bottle, non-greasy feel, and great scent make it a top-tier daily moisturizer.

Good SPF Coverage, Non Oily, UK Made "Head Cream"

I am a balding man in my 40s. I also have Psoriasis and so am forever moisturising my skin, so I was very keen to try this Daily Head Cream to see if it was a good alternative to the Zerobase moisturiser I am currently using.

At £20 for 50ml, this is quite pricey, but there are some key points to make when considering this. Firstly, it is made in the UK, which is good. It also protects your skin to a 30 SPF level, which is not the case with most creams. It includes Shea Butter, Argan Oil and Aloe Vera, all nice beneficial ingredients, and is organically formulated (which means I guess it's mainly organic?)

The cream has a very strong citrus smell to it when you first apply it, but this quickly dissipates and leaves a more subtle smell. It is not oily, so although it leaves a slight shine, it does not leave your skin feeling greasy. And it spreads very well; due to this, two or three squirts of the pump is enough to cover my head, so the 50ml, although small, will actually last me a good few weeks.

Overall, I like this cream; it is nice to apply and has a nice scent when applied to my balding head. It is quite pricey, but it is a nice product that spreads well.

SPF30 head cream

I'm a bald bloke who struggles every summer with a predicable cycle of burnt head > flaking > wrinkled head, so I was keen to try this daily 30 SPF head cream.
With that in mind, I find this cream very enjoyable to use. The thick, heavy glass bottle feels and looks premium and I believe it would be suitable for gifting. At the current price of £19.99 for 50ml, its small and quite expensive. However, a tiny amount goes a long way and is easy to rub in - the cream is absorbed very quickly, with little greasiness. The scent is herbal and traditional. Natural smelling rather than chemical-y. Very pleasant indeed. It's also suitable for use on the face, making it a great all in one solution.
I like the fact it's made in the UK by a small company in Bath and I appreciate the fact that 99% natural ingredients are used.
It has provided me with sun protection during this hot summer and prevented my scalf from burning. As such, I trust it to provide the protection

Lovely natural product.

Lovely product. It applies really well to the skin and has a subtle, but natural scent that lasts for 20 minutes or so and then fades away. Not that I’m an expert on these things but it genuinely feels like a high quality product. The retro packaging and even the tube in comes in are great too. Having read up on mineral sunscreen I’m sold, it seems a much better than using the chemical alternative. I’ll buy again.

Works great, was in the sun a lot wearing a cap and no face burn or dry skin all day, smells great

I have been using this head cream on my scalp every morning for a few weeks now and it has become part of my normal routine. I have a shaved head so finding something that protects without leaving a greasy or shiny finish has always been a challenge, and this cream handles that well. It sinks in quickly and leaves a natural, healthy looking finish rather than the matte chalky look some other bald head products give.

The SPF 30 protection feels reassuring for daily wear, whether that is walking the dog, commuting or spending longer periods outside. I have also used it a few times at the beach and reapplied every couple of hours as directed, and my scalp has not suffered any sunburn or irritation during that time. The hydration is where it really stands out, my skin does not feel tight or dry by the end of the day the way it used to with other sunscreens, and I put that down to the shea butter, jojoba and argan oil in the formula.

Application is straightforward, a pea sized amount is enough to cover the scalp evenly without over applying, so the 50 millilitre tube has lasted longer than I expected for daily use. The tube itself is a practical size at 14.3 by 3.5 by 3.5 centimetres and light enough at 175 grams to keep in a wash bag or take on trips without adding bulk.

Being 99 percent natural and formulated specifically for scalp skin rather than adapted from general face products makes a difference, my skin has not reacted badly at any point and there is no strong or artificial scent, just a mild natural oil smell that fades quickly. At £19.99 it sits at the higher end for a product this size, but given how well it performs and how little you need to use each time, I think it is good value for money for anyone who wants proper daily protection and skincare in one step.

The smell is a bit unusual at first but really natural and I’ve grown to like it. It fades after a few minutes regardless and leaves the scalp feeling really nice and refreshed. It’s clearly a
high quality product with a hefty glass bottle, well packaged in a small minimal box and lovely retro label that speaks to the barbershop feel. Overall I’m really impressed and will keep using. It’s quite expensive but my wife assures me it’s nothing compared to similar products she buys (seems a little jealous of anything)!

sun cream

INGREDIENTS:
I ran the ingredient list through an ingredient checker and it said that this product contains citrus oils (mandarin peel oil and sweet orange peel oil) which you normally have to be cautious of to make sure they don't react in the sun, but that the specific citrus oils chosen here, mandarin and sweet orange, are generally not considered phototoxic.

It flagged Benzyl Salicylate has having potential endocrine activity but no current evidence that this resulted in unsafe endocrine effects.

It noted that for people with very sensitive or eczema prone skin, to be cautious of using this product because of the salicylic acid content and the large amount of fragrances and essential oils used.

Overall, the ingredients seem good with no nasties.

SPF:
For a bald scalp, I've read that SPF 50+ is recommended rather than SPF 30, since the top of the head gets a lot of sun and is more prone to sun damage, so the higher the SPF the better - and ideally also wear a hat.

FEEL:
I love the feel of this moisturizer. It's thin and light. It rubs in beautifully, leaving no white cast at all - it's completely invisible and absorbs quickly and easily. It leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated and protected from the sun.

SMELL:
It smells like beeswax and natural essential oils. Pleasant. The smell is strong when freshly applied but dissipates quite quickly.

QUALITY:
The product itself looks like nice quality. It comes in a heavy glass bottle which makes it feel luxurious but on the other hand makes it less practical for travel since it's quite heavy, and glass is more breakable than plastic.

Disappointing

It's OK. Not the easiest to absorb and once dry there is still a sticky feel to it. Cant speak to the SPF element as I havent been outside much but dont tend to burn easily anyway. I think there are better products out there.

Gentlemans moisturising cream for head, with added SPF for protection

I have been using this for a couple of days so far, however - I really like it! Just 2 pumps (which looks to little) is enough to do my face & scalp.. this moisturising cream with SPF is the bee's knees IMO, it's rapidly absorbed and not greasy, but the smell- OMG the sandalwood and woodiness stays with you all day! It just smells/ feels natural with no chemically nastiness that you sometimes get from similar products..

The thick (really) glass bottle holds 50ml of product, and with the minute amount I use in a morning after my shower, this should last a good wee while.

I would recommend this to anyone that has dry skin, as mine was gone within 2 days, no more flaky bald head- just soft supple nice smelling head! With the added sun protection- which I'm sure most bald men fall foul of/ get caught out by from time to time!

Better than most of the rubbish out there full of nasty chemicals...

What you see in their photos is what you get. The skin is the biggest organ of the body, very important to keep nasty chemicals away from it, everything from hand soaps, to shower gels, and especially 'sun screens' contain so many poisons that travel through the skin into the blood, overloading the liver etc.... no thank you, so few products these days are truly safe for the skin, the absolute test is if you can't eat it, don't slap it on your skin! Food for thought eh. Anyway, this one comes in a fancy glass bottle, with an old fashioned style label, hubby's 67 years old almost bald and his head needs protection as he is outdoors a lot and often forgets his baseball cap! If it is only applied to his head face and neck, during the summer, this might last a couple of months, which is expensive - £20 a pop. The sunblock is 'mineral zinc oxide' which apparently sits on top of the skin and doesnt get absorbed into the blood stream - did a lot of reading, and it is seems to be a safe product. Hubby tried it, and will use it as it isn't greasy, or full of unnatural chemical nasties, which are forbidden in our house! It does have a weird smell though, which disappears quick.

Easy to use.

My husband is, ahem, folically challenged. Rather than have a bald patch he shaves his head, or should I say I use clippers on his head once a fortnight or so and he uses an electric razor on his head every few days until the razor cannot cope and I use the clippers again.

Over the years he's burned his head and forehead quite badly because he (i) forgets to wear a cap or (ii) doesn't use a sunscreen. He's learned his lesson and is much more careful nowadays. He's also recently started to moisturise as he's finally noticed that his skin is less dry and easier to shave if it's moisturised. Doh.

This is the perfect product for my husband - it irritates him do end to have one product for face and a different one for his head, this is suitable for both and he can just continue from his neck and chin over his head in one movement, it absorbs quickly, a little goes a long way and feels slightly cooling, excellent.

This is absolutely packed with botanicals such as shea butter, sunflower seed oil, aloe vera, pomegranate, rosehip and many others, including lavender. The fragrance is noticeably lavender but with hints of orange and something a bit woody, it's masculine but not overly so and has a freshness to it that's not always found in products with a sunscreen.

This cream is surprisingly light - many sunscreens are a bit thick and more axle grease than cream but this is water and natural plant oil based not mineral oil or petroleum jelly based which makes all the difference.

I like that this has been developed by barbers - they understand scalp skin and see sun damaged skin daily so they have a good handle on what the issues are and how to help prevent them.

It's 99% natural and 66% organic and apart from all the natural, mainly organic, botanicals this cream is free from synthetic colours and additives, cruelty free and suitable for vegetarians and Vegans with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Skin doesn't look shiny nor does it look dull and matte, it just looks natural, as though no product has been used at all. There's also an issue that rarely gets talked about - SPF products often stain yellow - I've lost count of the number of t-shirts that have been ruined by yellow staining at the neck caused by the chemicals in SPF products. This product is claimed to be no yellow stains - if this proves to be correct it's worth buying for that alone. Another issue with SPF products is that they sting if they run into the eyes, this cream absorbs and doesn't seem to sweat out and run which is a real bonus.

All in all this looks and feels like a premium product that doesn't seem over priced for what it is and does.

It's always hard to know if enough SPF has been applied and how often to re-apply so I will encourage my husband to use this as well as wear a cap for complete security.

Ideal for bald heads although I'd like to see an SPF50 version

I got this for my husband who is bald as I wanted something that would moisturise his scalp while also providing some sun protection.

The product arrived well packaged inside a sturdy cardboard tube with plastic end caps. It was VERY secure and the caps were stapled in place which took quite a bit of effort to remove, so the packaging could be made a little easier to open.

The cream itself comes in a glass pump bottle, which gives it a premium feel. The pump dispenses a good amount of product and the cream applies easily. It absorbs well without leaving a greasy residue and has a pleasant, fresh scent.

The built in SPF 30 is great, especially as my husband has managed to burn his scalp a few times recently. Having sun protection as part of a daily moisturiser makes it much more likely to be used regularly. Personally I'd love to see an SPF 50 version for even greater protection.

Overall this is a high quality scalp moisturiser that feels like a premium product and performs well. It's not the cheapest option but the price is in line with other premium skincare brands, and the added sun protection makes it well worth considering.

Economical to use and has a fresh, botanical scent that's quite invigorating.

If you've ever tried Hardwick &Co's anti-ageing head cream for follicularly-challenged streamlined upper craniums, you'll feel at home with this SPF30 version. It arrives in the same high quality glass bottle with the pump dispenser already attached.

It takes a few squeezes to get going but when it does appear, the cream feels very lightly textured. Be warned though, a little goes a long way so you need no more than half a teaspoon to cover your entire scalp area. When you do work it in, it becomes firm-feeling and has a corresponding smoothing effect on skin wrinkle - caused by sun damage in my case. There's no greasiness left behind either. The moisturising effect is long lasting too and I could still detect it on my head after twelve hours. The mineral sun protection qualities won't last that long though, so you should probably treat it as a normal sun cream and re-apply every 4-6 hours or so if you're out and about.

The scent seems to be identical to the other non-SPF30 verson I tried recently. It's a fresh, botanical, non-offensive aroma that's not cloying at all and is quite invigorating, especially after a shave.

Overall, this is an excellent head cream, if a little pricey. I don't intend to use it on the hottest and sunniest of days when I would be regularly applying huge globs of SPF30 or 50 sun cream, but for everyday use on brighter, cooler days, this is a great product to use.
